Calendar and Schedule work is a huge block!

Do I run the school like regular school schedule? Do I school through the summer? How many days a week? What hours of the day? When do we take off time? What type of calendar do I use in our school room? How do I teach the kids how to read a calendar?
Shooooo!!! So much to think about!

The best thing is to find a 12 month calendar that you like and put it up for the kids to look at. Print out a one month grid to place on the board as well. Put some of the kids favorite activities and events on there for them to spot. Then, definitely have your own calendar book that you have at your desk to keep everything in order.

When you assign chores, have them run a weekly schedule that gives tasks on certain days. So-the child looks at Thursdays and sees that laundry day runs on Thursday.

The more you incorporate their life into a visual calendar as well...the better!
